Welcome to Britain's premier parapolitical investigative magazine Notes from the Borderland (NFB). We have been producing the magazine
since 1997 but some published material before then. Our political perspective is Left/Green, but we welcome truth-tellers, whatever
their affiliations. Research interests include the secret state (MI5/MI6/Special Branch) & their assets, including the media.
We are resolutely anti-fascist, and to that end investigate the far right and state infiltration of various milieus. In a shallow
age where many TV programmes and newspaper stories are spoon-fed to servile journalists by shadowy interests, NFB stands out as genuine
investigative research.

Our wide range of contacts and sources--there are
few areas we have not covered, or will not cover.
The fact our own radical political views do not prevent us from examining and exposing
dodgy activity anywhere on the political spectrum or indeed within society. No shibboleths!
The relentlessness with which we
pursue stories--both over time (years)
and in terms of always searching for more evidence. Where at all possible, claims are substantiated by referenced foot-notes, so readers
can check them. This alone distinguishes us from the mainstream media, Private Eye etc.
The fact we are emphatically not 'conspiracy
theorists'. We do not make things up, instead analyse in close empirical detail 'covert operations' by the secret state
and ruling class/para-state bodies. Otherwise known as parapolitics.
Our dedication to separating wheat from chaff. Much of what is termed 'conspiracy theory' has some factual basis--Operation GLADIO, the JFK assassination, Cointelpro, Waco, Agent Stakeknife in N. Ireland, the British American Project for example. Other things coming under that same rubric--David Icke's rubbish about lizards, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, Illuminati fables, the Da Vinci Code--we have no truck with. Although even bogus conspiracy theories such as these need placing in political historical and social context. We aim to do just that.

The way we do not deny the importance of individual
responsibility in human affairs. Where it is relevant, named individuals are called
to account. Not for us the cosy Noam Chomsky option of reifying media institutions and thereby letting individual journalists off
the hook. If they're happy to put suspect stories on their CV, we are too!
